Re: Plastic Model kits
Imposters! Neither "Duck Egg Green" nor "Gun Metal Grey" are featured on the Humbrol Paint List for Airfix kits.

I've given this topic some consideration, and would just like to say one thing.

Re: Plastic Model kits
Still got the Crosses though. Bloody fiddly painting a swastika on the tail of a Foker Wolfe 190, painted in winter camo that's seeing action over the eastern front.

Fucking hell Airfix kits now gone pc. What next?

Ridikzappa 9:52 Thu May 14
Re: Plastic Model kits
Why do they not have the swastika?

Are they not authentic then?

Should they not then remove the guns from the models as they are offensive too?

Re: Plastic Model kits
I loved them and now build them with my son. Airfix 1:72
.Shame they no longer have the swastika in the transfers though. That's modern kits for you.

Re: Plastic Model kits
Growing up I used to build lots, been buying some off ebay, got a pile of them in the loft.

Re: Plastic Model kits
Got a load of them at home to do,mostly motorbikes although a Mosquito and WW2 Typhoon are in the pile too. Pride of place is an unopened Stingray model from the 60's (the Gerry Anderson one)

Re: Plastic Model kits
I was always a bit shit at building them. Probably because I knew their eventual demise- getting shot to bits with an air rifle or set on fire and chucked out of my bedroom window.

About the same time I took one of the worst tannings ever when I drew swastikas on my sister's beloved Girl's World doll and put an air-gun pellet between the eyes. Mum and Dad didn't really believe I was assassinating a Nazi collaborator.

Had a collection of warships and planes and some of those boxes of tiny Airfix soldiers sets - British 8th Army and Afrika Corps as a kid.

A great way to spend a wet Sunday afternoon.

Re: Plastic Model kits
As a young teen I would spend many happy hours slowly assembling Airfix planes and then watch them fly around my bedroom.

Weeeeeee.

That glue was sensational.
